About the Role
The After Care Teacher will assist in encouraging the healthy intellectual and psychological growth of the children in our facilities. You will teach and supervise them while also motivating them to use their mental capacities and exercise their imagination.

·      Design and follow a full schedule of activities and discover suitable teaching material

·      Use a wide range of teaching methods (stories, media, indoor or outdoor games, drawing etc) to enhance the child’s abilities
·      Evaluate children’s performance to make sure they are on the right learning track
·      Remain in constant communication with parents and update them on the progress of their children
·      Observe children’s interactions and promote the spirit of concord
·      Identify behavioral problems and determine the right course of action
·      Collaborate with other colleagues
·      Adhere with teaching standards and safety regulations as established by the official sources
Essential Functions:
Curriculum
Oversee the execution of the curriculum.
Work with teachers to design and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum in each classroom.
                                i.    Schedule field trips and activities (should line up with lessons and themes
                                ii.    Ensure bulletin boards are updated (in the classroom and in hallways)
                                iii.    Plan activities/curriculum for after care and school-age student breaks
   c. Keep abreast of the following and ensure that each room is following them.
                                 i.    ECE trends
                                 ii.    NAEYC standards
                                 iii.    Uses ITERS/ECHERS rating scales to assist in evaluating program needs.

About the Company
While performing the duties of this position employees are subject to constant interruptions, are often under severe time constraints and are in direct contact with the public, students, and employees. Negative interactions resulting from these contacts can result in stressful situations. Job tasks are performed in close physical proximity with children and adults.
The child care environment is often loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in several indoor environments including the classroom, kitchen, and office. Additionally, employees will work in outdoor environments including on or near student playground equipment.
